Biography

Dr Lingwei William Tao has graduated from medicine at The University of Melbourne in 2012. After two years of residency Dr Tao has undertaken his ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital while concurrently completing Master of Medicine at The University of Sydney. He has obtained his Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists at the beginning of 2021.

Dr Tao has additional sub-speciality fellowship in glaucoma at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in 2020 as well as general paediatric ophthalmology fellowship at The Royal Children’s Hospital in 2021. His surgical expertise covers cataract and glaucoma surgery of all ages.

Dr Tao holds public consultant appointments at the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Yarra Range Health. He operates privately at Waverley Private Hospital, Victoria Parade Surgery Centre and Manningham Private Hospital.
