Online Appointment Request
Please allow 1.5 hours for your child’s eye examination. We understand that waiting can be challenging. Our orthoptists and doctors strive to keep wait times minimal, but no child’s eye examination can be rushed.
Examining young children’s eyes can take a variable amount of time. Factors such as administering dilating eye drops and conducting additional tests for diagnosis may vary the duration of the examination.
While booking appointments, we cannot predict which patients will need more time than usual. Urgent and complex eye issues may arise unexpectedly, necessitating additional support and time.
On busy days, wait times may extend to 2 hours or more. We kindly request that you consider this when scheduling your visit.
Your patience is deeply appreciated.
The clinic has toys and books to help keep your child entertained while waiting.
- Medicare card
- Patient registration form
- List of medical problems and current medications
- Payment card

After check in with the reception staff, one of our friendly orthoptists will check your child’s vision and ocular alignment along with other basic tests such as 3D tests.
Dilating eye drops are usually instilled to dilate your child’s pupil after the orthoptist completes their assessment.
Dilating eye drops are important for the doctor to perform comprehensive check of your child’s refractive errors and internal eye health check.
